Birthpangs of Moshiach

A Chasid told me a story about the Baba Sali

Before he died he gave a letter to his Shamesh telling him not to open it until Sept 11, 2001. The Shamesh opened the letter on the 11th of September like the Baba Sali had instructed him. Now keep in mind, his Shamesh doesn't use internet or watch TV so there is no way he knows what is happening on the other side of the world when he opens the letter and reads the following.

"Today two buildings will fall. When the third building falls, Moshiach will come."

The story was quite a shock to me and I tried to search the internet to verify such a story. I didnt find it, but what I did find was this website.

Pure Torah
Amazing Torah website.

Bircat Ha'Chamah - The Blessing on the Sun - Once every 28 years Since creation, there was only two times that the year we say Birkat HaHamah fell out on the 1st Day of Passover. The first was the year Hashem redeemed Israel from Egypt. The second was the year of Purim, when Hashem saved the Jews from the evil Haman, who wanted to kill and destroy all Jews. This year Birkat HaHamah falls out on the 1st Day of Passover (which will be the 3rd time in history) When it was told to Hacham Ovadia Yosef, that this year Birkat HaHamah falls out on the 1st Day of Passover, he started crying.

*Edit: A commenter on my blog showed me that this is not true. Birkas Ha'Chammah fell on the 1st day of Pesach on April 8th 1925.

Some really amazing stories.

Stories are stories though. We need to do Teshuvah, get others to do Teshuvah and perform Mitzvos with Love and Joy!

Lets bring Moshiach now!!! Amen!

Dear Long Beach Chasid,

Unfortunatly, this is not true. There were plenty of years where Birkat HaChama falled on erev Pessach. The last time was in 1925. But there is no need to despair. Harambam said Maschiach can come everyday.

Dear Farsy

Of course Moshiach can come any moment!

To push of Moshiach to April 9th 2009 is a horrible injustice to him because he could come this very moment!

I was simply saying something amazing is bound to happen.

On April 8th 1925 Bircat Ha'Chamah fell on the day of Erev Pesach.

it started at nightfall April 7th and ended April 8th at sundown. Pesach began April 8th at sundown.

So it wasnt on the first day of Pesach!

As I ended my blog

Stories are stories though. We need to do Teshuvah, get others to do Teshuvah and perform Mitzvos with Love and Joy!

Lets bring Moshiach now!!! Amen!

Thanks for reading my blog

Dear Long Beach Chasid

It seems that there is a kind of misunderstanding. THis year too in 5769, Birkat Hachama will fall on the eve of Pessach (in the morning of the 14 Nissan) et not the First Day of Pessah (15 Nissan). As far as I understand, Birkat Hachama never falls the first day of yom tov.

Upon a closer examination you are correct. I responded to you very early in the morning after just waking up. It disappoints me that this isnt true, but the other stories are very interesting. I will have to edit the posting. I emailed them asking them to explain themselves. Thank you for the Emes.

Still we can both agree that stories wont bring Moshiach only Teshuva, Tzedakah and Tefilah. Amen.

Anonymous- I dont understand what you are saying by this. What does Shmita year and Purim have to do with Birkas HaChama falling Erev Pesach?

While this is true, the big deal about THIS year is that its the first time since purim (and before that, yetzias mitzrayim) that birkas hachama has fallen out on erev pesach of a shmita year... (I heard this confirmed by a rabbi in Israel @ chitrik seminary)

Sorry that I wasn't clear in my first comment

Thank you for correcting the info. Can you provide more info about what people are saying in Israel and in Yeshiva circles?

Birchas HaChamah is fairly unknown to me aside from what I have gathered on the internet.
